Detailed Itinerary

 

Day 1: Arrive Santa Cruz

Upon arrival at Santa Cruz Airport, please clear immigration, collect your luggage, and proceed to the arrivals hall where your driver will be waiting to transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to recover from your long flight and explore Santa Cruz

Overnight: Santa Cruz 4* Hotel

 

Day 2: Santa Cruz – Samaipata – National Park Amboro

After breakfast today, you will visit the pre-Columbian fortress El Fuerte in Samaipata, before transferring to National Park Amboro.

Day 3: National Park Amboro 

After breakfast today, you will enjoy the many activities on offer in National Park Amboro, including a guided Observation Walk. After lunch, you will have the afternoon at leisure to enjoy the park.

Day 4: National Park Amboro – Santa Cruz

Those who wish to partake can enjoy a second observation tour of plant and bird species in the park before transferring back to Santa Cruz. Afternoon at your leisure

Day 5: Santa Cruz - Sucre

After breakfast today, you will have a few hours at leisure to shop for any last-minute souvenirs, before your driver collects you and transfers you the airport for your onward flight to Sucre

Day 6: Sucre

Today you are invited to join a half-day Sucre City Tour visiting the San Francisco Monastery La Recoleta, the Casa de la Libertad, and the Cathedral. Your guide will point out areas of interest and take you to a good local restaurant for lunch.  You will return to the hotel in the early afternoon for an evening at leisure.

Day 7: Sucre - Potosi

Today you will continue your Bolivian adventure through the Cordillera de los Fariles to Potosi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the highest cities in the world at 4,090 metres above sea level.  After checking in to your hotel, you will head off on your city tour, visiting the Casa de la Moneda, before heading to the roof of the San Francisco Monastery for spectacular views of Potosi.

Day 8: Potosí – Uyuni - Colchani 

After breakfast and a morning visit to Santa Teresa Monastery, your journey will continue through Cordillera de las Chichas to Colchani on the eastside of the Salt Lake of Uyuni.  Salar de Uyuni is the largest salt flat in the world, and the photo opportunities are amazing, especially during the very brief rainy season when it transforms into the world’s largest mirror.  A highlight of any Bolivian itinerary.

Day 9: Colchani – Salt Lake of Uyuni – Colchani 

A day full of adventure, you will take a trip over the Salt Lake of Uyuni and visit the Incahausi Island where you can walk to the view Point of Volcano Tunupa. Afterwards, you will continue to San Juan where you will dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Colchani – Uyuni – La Paz 

After breakfast today, you will take one more trip to Uyuni before transferring to the airport for your flight to La Paz. Upon arrival, your driver will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel in the city, before you embark on your afternoon city tour visiting the Calle Jaén, Plaza Murillo, Prado, Plaza San Francisco and one of the many vibrant markets.

Day 11: La Paz – Tiwanaku – Copacabana 

Today you will head towards Copacabana, a pretty city on the banks of Lake Titicaca.  You will visit the pre-Columbian ruins of Tiwanaku and stop for lunch along the way. Upon arrival in Copacabana, you will have a few hours at leisure to explore the waterfront, before dinner at the hotel.

Day 12: Copacabana – Sun Island 

After breakfast, you will take a boat trip to the magical Sun Island, where you will visit the magical pre-Columbian ruins of La Chinkana. After checking into your hotel on the islands, you will take a 3-hour walk to the south of the Island to watch the magnificent sunset. An unforgettable day, don’t forget your camera!

Day 13: Sun Island – Copacabana – La Paz 

After a final breakfast on Sun Islands, you will descend via the ancient Inca steps to the southern port, where you will catch your return boat trip to Copacabana.  Here, you will visit the famous church before transferring to La Paz for one last night in this bustling city.

Day 14: Departure

All good things must come to an end, and after breakfast today, your driver will transfer you to the airport.
